Colonic Hydrotherapy in a beautiful
private new clinic in Glastonbury
Felicity has had many years of experience
as a therapist. Starting out in nursing she entered the world of
complementary medicine through her own ill health when allopathic
medicine didn’t have the answers.
She has studied, qualified, practiced and
taught in several methods over the years, in massage and bodywork
techniques. She is a Reiki Master and Clinical Ecologist, working
with allergies and nutrition, runs detox retreats both here in the
UK and abroad. Felicity not only offers her own unique way of working
with clients, but also has a wonderful network of therapists and
practitioners whom she refers her clients to if she feels they would
benefit from such a referral.
Felicity is committed to her own healing
journey and that of her clients; she has clinics in London and Somerset.

The colon
Otherwise known as the bowel or large intestine,
is the last part of the digestive tract and is responsible for the
absorption of water soluble nutrients and the synthesis of certain
vitamins as well as excretion of toxins and undigested food. It
is about 5 feet in length and is about 2.5 inches wide and has muscles
that run vertically and horizontally creating a peristaltic movement.
The colon has reflexes as do the feet, hands
and ears so keeping a healthy colon keeps the other organs healthy
too!
In order for the colon to function properly,
it needs to have the correct balance of friendly bacteria. Sadly,
over 90% of people have more unfriendly bacteria in their gut which
inhibits the function and growth of friendly bacteria (which usually
makes up 70% of the dry weight of faecal waste)…this imbalance
can lead to constipation, diarrhoea, IBS, bloating, autointoxication,
diverticular disease, fissures, colitis, Candida, leaky gut syndrome
or bowel cancer.
A lot of these diseases are asymptomatic
for a while, but will manifest in other parts of the body such as
migraines or regular headaches, eczema, acne, allergies, weight
gain / loss and degenerative diseases amongst others…

Colonics…preparation
Usually I like to discuss your needs on the
phone or by email prior to an appointment and often I will send
you out some herbs to take for a week before your visit, this will
start the cleansing process. However, it is not necessary to do
any preparation prior to your visit.
How long is a session and how many
sessions are needed?
The procedure itself can take between 30-50
minutes and there is time at the beginning and end to take a history
and discuss the next step. Sometimes it is necessary to have a series
of sessions for maximum benefit. Often between 4-6 sessions fairly
close together. Sometimes just 2-4 a year as maintenance is appropriate.

Is it safe?
The equipment is either disposable or sterilised
using the most modern, hospital approved sterilising solutions which
kill 100% of viruses, bacteria and fungus.
With the gentle low gravity pressure of the
water there is no risk of bowel perforation.
Colonics are not habit forming (unlike laxatives
.... quite the opposite). They encourage colon tone and function. |
